I painted this over the last Christmas Holidays
With the Hallelujah Mountains of China in my mind
Trees standing side by side overlooking the sides
Like a circle of friends in this experience of life
Now Nancy said this painting spoke to her
And that I had painted it just for her
I wondered why and how it speaks to her
After a little chat I realised
It was because her son who loves the outdoors
Will be leaving her side to go plant trees
Explore the big, wide world to find adventures and himself
And this image would serve to keep him close
As she has it hung on her bedroom wall across her bed
Where she can think about him at the end of a busy day
Hugging her little boy tightly close to her heart
Thus is the eternal love of every Mother
Who bravely lets go the years and allows her little bird
To jump off and soar so it can find
That it is capable of flapping its wings eventho' they are apart...
