After a day of painting with differently abled students inside, went out to paint this scene outside a daycare centre .
A Dad walked up behind me with a squirming, excited 31/2 year old…
She looked so eager to join in that I offered; “Would you like to try?”and handed her my brush.. The Dad stepped forward and she gave an immediate, energetic swipe which rearranged the leaves in my front flower bed …

The Dad thanked me profusely and whisked her away as she was about to reach out for my solvent..
I piped after him:
‘Pay attention to that.. she is very keen.. make sure you support her!”.
And I am going to keep my rearranged flower bed.. I like it … just had to reblossom some flowers.. 😂

In between classes..
Drove around for a place to stop for a quick lunch & painting…
Don’t even know the name of the street
But it had parking where I could paint right by my car…
If only every scene I ever wanted to paint…
I could just spill out of the car & set up. 🤣
Have to conserve energy for my afternoon private student.. 😄

Day 25 #stradaeasel
From my painting vantage point…
While working on my chosen scene…
I can’t help but enjoy the many going ons about me..
A Mom & her two children beach combing..
A dog earnestly running through the waves to fetch the stick its master threw it…
A couple of teenage girls squealed as the dog shook its wet fur at them..
A Birthday song poked through my concentration..
A man walked by..
‘Would you like to see my photos of this place at 7am?”
“Wow!”
Sigh… looks like I will have to return at 7am.
“Very little chance I”ll get here for 7am though “ I sadly admitted.
“No worries…I’ll send you whichever photos you would like…
Sigh … I meet such sweet generous souls along the way..

A car backed into a spot which blocked my view three quarters way into my painting.. I looked around the generous parking lot with only one other spot taken..
The driver emerged, looking a little sheepish:
‘ Did I just block your view?’
Sigh..such an apologetic tone of voice ..
‘No worries.. much easier for me to move my easel than for you to move your car’ Just one of those challenges that come along with painting outside…
The other was it started to drizzle with a threatening gust of wind.. Raindrops were beading on my oil painting..
Threw everything into the car. As I drove off the rain gave a last sputter and stopped…
Sigh… one of those other things that come with painting on location…
You get teased by nature a lot … 🤣.

Abstractions of the world around me…
I like to balance my left brain hemisphere with my right..
So I keep working on my abstract work alongside my plein air work.. I love the journey into the unknown:
Swimming in murky water..
Resurfacing now and again to find hidden elements dancing in unexpected colours ..
And finally pulling them altogether to sing the song I hear in my heart..
