 Pots of mini-roses abound in gift shops and garden centre for Mother's Day celebrations
In my household, I made an announcement That there was no need to be pressurized by commercialism To shower me with flowers on Mother"s Day... But please do so... Every day before that and after that throughout the year! Nervous laughter from all round...  Daughter called from Paris last Thurs:
"Hey Mom, let's facechat on Sun. when I get to Lisbon!" Me: " You're there to enjoy Lisbon with your friends, just go out and have fun and take lots of pics for me.. we can chat after" Daughter: " But Mom, I want to call you for Mother's Day!" Me: 'OH! OK! I know you love love me but sure, if you like." Daughter email from Lisbon: "Hey Mom, won't be calling: my phone dropped out of my pocket into the Seine.." SIGH... guess where her summer's job first pay check is going? I always like to glean lessons from every unfortunate event Which then makes it a fortunate event for a valuable lesson learnt.. "ENJOY ALL OPEN WATERS BUT KEEP YOUR POCKETS ZIPPED UP..."  Flowers painted on a wall plaque...
I feel like putting the words: "WELCOME' on it... Do you think that would be welcomed?  Entrancing field of wild flowers
