Painting "Red Rockets" in Toronto before they totally disappear..
With the advancement of streetcars technology
The "Red Rockets" generation is being replaced by the new longer, modern Flexity streetcars
A hot day to paint in..
Forgot to bring a coconut tree to give shade and coconut juice to all my fellow Toronto urban sketchers! 😁
But the pulsating energy of Toronto and fellow sketchers is invigorating and palpable! 🤩

Being driven to my hotel on the European side
After having landed in Ataturk Airport, the Asian side of Turkey
My cab driver was a spry, elderly gentleman
Who weaved in and out of traffic
I was slightly surprised at myself for feeling calm despite the seemingly reckless driving:
Changing lanes on a whim without signaling or straddling lanes
I thought to myself:
If he managed to drive and lived to this ripe age
I must be in skilled hands... and blissfully caught a few winks
And delivered refreshed to my hotel front steps
I am so grateful to many lovely souls who helped me hang my solo show...
Thank you! <3

Sequestered in my studio to prepare for a solo show
That is going to be at...
Fireside Lounge, Art Gallery of Burlington... 😀
How can such a talented man...
Who brought so much joy and smiles as part of the Walk Off the Earth band
Just not be part of this earth at this young age..? 😕
Painting with Seniors..
Nothing like having a collective show to work towards...
To keep the chatter away
And laser-like focus to hone in one's vision
For a masterpiece to come! 😆
Painting outside in November..
Passes by this park quite often
And this time, there was a parking spot available..
Finally, everything lined up for this opportunity
Warm clothes, mitts, paints and easel and time all available
Just had to haul myself out of the car..
I just love gazebos, don't you?
Think I've asked you that before... lol
HAVE A SASSY SATURDAY, dear friends! xoxo
Our friend, Rachel passed away peacefully yesterday evening..
So glad I called her a couple of weeks ago..
We chatted for nearly 2 hours
I usually am in denial
And always hopeful that people will get better
But this time, I wanted to make sure
I said whatever I wanted to say, expressed love and gratitude to her before the time came..
Texted her a few evenings ago..
No reply for a couple of days
And then " Love you.."
She is not known for being brief in her words
So, I knew she was tired
I texted her back " I am so happy to hear back from you!"
Again, somewhat hopeful..
Alas..that text remains unopened....
Thank you for being the presence you were..
For the tea parties where you served your wicked, delectable cakes
The secret blueberries patches you shared with me
The stories you regaled me of your hunting days
And always the kind words of encouragement and support for my artwork..
I am just one more of those who love you too...
RIP, dear Rachel.. <3
CARRY ON LIVING YOUR LIVES WITH ZEST, dear friends! xoxo
