Homelessness...

Found an out-of-the-way position to do a couple of sketches..
A young man approached me with a small box tray of merchandise ...
He seemed delighted to have spotted me sketching:
I looked like his ideal customer as he was selling pens, colouring pencils, markers, notebooks.. 😆

I already brought enough stationery to begin my sketching journey in Buenos Aires and was expecting more in a goodie bag coming my way from the urban sketching symposium...
But I was very happy to buy something from him:
I had seen so many homeless people going through garbage bins rummaging for whatever they could find...
And here he was, trying to be enterprising with a cheerful smile although I sensed a quiet desperate plea behind his eyes...

Sigh... seems like there is a homelessness problem in every country including Canada,..
It was very heartbreaking to see beautiful tourist landmarks in Buenos Aires...
Yet when I got lost, 2 streets over, there were less glamorous streets with people going through garbage bins... 💔
Help us solve this incessant problem. 🙏🏼 🌎 🌷 🌼
