Flanked by buildings on either side did not protect me from the wind and cold on the morning of painting but it was still fun...

Painting with differently abled students...
To capture some blooms in a vase before summer becomes a memory in the past...
Taylor began to paint hers ...
She began to progressively look very sad...
" I don't like how it looks.."
I reassured her that paintings go through a stage where they don't look like anything but to trust the process and persevere through the next few layers to get to one's desired result...
Her body slouched over looking most dejected: " It looks like just a blob!"
After much persuasion, she went along ...
Her face finally broke into a beautiful, happy smile: "I am happy with it now"
I hope that our art sessions are a safe way to live the metaphor in life:
" Take risks while in the unknown and see where the journey takes you, mistakes can be learnt from and turned around to achieve your heart desires..."

I've always wanted to paint Lucy Maud Montgomery's residence in Norval...
Where she penned 5 novels, poems, journals and short stories...
It was a lovely September morning as lovely as a cloudy September morning can be while I painted...
Towards the last 1/2 hr of the 3hr allotted...
The clouds parted for a moment for some sunshine to streak across the scene before me...
Allowing me to see it in a new light...
Prodding me to put in some last minute lights and highlights with a trembling hand...
Because painting makes you hungry and adrenaline driven..
Time was nearly up and I had yet to drive back to hand in my painting... 😆
Thank you, Carolyn for taking my painting home to live with you in Norval
May the memory of one of our country's much loved author continues to live on... 🥰 🌸 🌻
